Our new year’s resolution is the same as last year, make P2Pspot better. We’re going start by migrating to a new, faster host. Based on our tests, P2Pspot will be almost 8x faster after our migration to the cloud! While that’s obviously good news for all of you, it does mean that we’ll have to briefly bring the site down on Jan 24 @ 7pm EST.

Over the last month several hosts were evaluated based on speed, security and expandability. We used blitz.io (a very cool site) to evaluate the response times. We attached some results for fun.

Please continue to send your feedback!

Sincerely,
That is LESS than paypal, much more convenient AND the buyer’s purchase will be insured (depending on credit card). After you sign up the company will send you a free card reader adapter so that you can being swiping cards. That means when trading items via p2pspot.com you no longer have to deal with cash or checks. I found out about this after visiting my local chase bank — please share your experiences if you use this to make a trade!

As mentioned in the past, we love feedback on the site. Recently someone posted that our site’s search seemed like an afterthought (heh, even critical feedback). Search being one of my personal favorite parts about the site, we decided to go back to the drawing board. Since the last big upgrade, search was only available once you selected a category. For instance, once you were on a page like video games you could search for video game listings. As you may have noticed, we just moved search to the homepage so that you can instantly search for any listing. As you navigate the site, search will remain in the header so it’s always available to you. Search on!

As you are aware, we are constantly working hard to make P2Pspot better. Now when viewing listings with multiple photos you can seamlessly click between the entire photo set without going back to the listing (especially nice with housing listings).

This is only part of our improvements. We’ve spent a lot of time trying to make it easier to manage the photos attached to your listing. We realize that some time you might need to add photos to a listing you already posted – no worries, go to your listing and click EDIT and you’ll see adding images is simple.

We really appreciate all of your feedback since our last upgrade. It’s rewarding to hear that the our efforts to make selling/buying easier for you has paid off. When launching such an abundant amount of changes, there’s always the fear of something going wrong (even if you test your changes 1000 times).

Some of you might have noticed this weekend that we updated our expired listing approach. Now when you get an e-mail that your listing has expired, you can relist it with just a few clicks! Yea…that Craig guy doesn’t do that for you. 8-)

Our focus over the next few months is going to be on spreading the word. We really dialed down the marketing over the last year because we wanted to wait until our site was really awesome. Since we offer a 100% free service, we’re working on a small budget…so we’d appreciate all the help we can get — tell a friend or two, invite them to our facebook page, tweet about us.

This post was suppose to be about fixes and tweeks, so here’s what we’ve done over the last few weeks:

Improved search results (P2Pspot, Amazon, Half, Simplyhired and Oodle).

Enhanced College profile pages for a better community experience.

Corrected a few interface quirks for popular mobile browsers.

Fixed issue with P2Pspot alerts being filtered as spam for hotmail users.

Added security for protecting your information.

Enabled our improved expired listing notification.

Perfected our new Re-list feature.
